Description
The Education Specialist will support the Director of Events and Education in executing SITE's educational programming strategy. This individual will play a key role in managing the operational aspects of SITE's Learning Management System (LMS), supporting the development and delivery of educational content across multiple channels, ensuring the seamless execution of in-person and digital events and professional certificate programs, and enhancing the value and experience for SITE's global community.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, adaptable, and highly organized professional who brings strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to their work. They will serve as an ambassador for SITE and its mission, supporting educational programming that creates value for SITE’s global community. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys managing multiple moving pieces, prioritizing shifting needs, solving problems thoughtfully, and operating with autonomy while knowing when to collaborate, ask questions, or escalate roadblocks.
Requirements
Learning Management System Administration (20%)
- Oversee the administration of SITE's LMS, including user interface logistics, e-learning development, and content catalog maintenance.
- Manage the setup, execution, and post-event reporting for virtual education deliveries, ensuring a high-quality experience for all participants.
Digital Event Coordination (20%)
- Lead the pre-event setup for webinars and live digital events, including scheduling, presenter prep sessions, uploading and testing materials, post-event reporting, and serving as the live event producer.
- Coordinate the scheduling, implementation, and delivery of webinars and other virtual sessions, ensuring sponsor recognition and financial reconciliation.
Content Development Support (20%)
- Assist in developing and curating educational content, including preparing speaker descriptions, titles, and learning objectives.
- Manage speaker logistics and Call for Speakers portal for in-person SITE events
- Collaborate with the Director of Education and other stakeholders to identify and acquire new intellectual property that enhances member value and generates revenue.
Certification and Program Support (20%)
- Support the administration of SITE's CIS and CITP certifications, including the tracking of certification records, course transcripts, and member updates.
- Serve as the liaison for external certifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate set-up and delivery of in-person certification programs.
Administrative Support (20%)
- Develop and manage multiple projects, milestones/deadlines, and key deliverables as it relates to each project.
- Management of education inbox, internal calendars and documents.
- Serves as Events Industry Council (EIC) Preferred Provider liaison by compiling, submitting and tracking clock hour approvals for all learning programs, events and sessions, then communicating results to appropriate stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate roadblocks and provide thoughtful solutions as one of the primary points of contact for SITE members, chapter leaders, and external educational partners regarding educational programming.
Other duties as directed by supervisor
Travel required – 10%
Ability to occasionally work outside normal business hours
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
Three or more years of experience in the events industry, project management, or training and development.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in education, events, knowledge management, or training and development; or three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hospitality-related studies a plus.

CREDENTIALS, LICENSE, TRADE CERTIFICATION, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION
Certification such as CIS, CITP or CMP a plus
