Opportunity:
Pediatric Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric Respiratory Therapist
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every third weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Occasional off-shift call needs from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM on a volunteer basis to maintain safe minimums with a 1-hour call response time
• Cover all adult units, ED, and pediatric patients while in the ED
• Perform ABGs and CBGs in intensive care units
• Provide EKG department coverage overnight and as needed
• Assist with intubation and may place laryngeal airway (King airway) during code blue situations
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Trauma Level 2 or 3 experience required
• Critical care experience required
• Will accept first-time travelers and travel duos (scheduling cannot be guaranteed for duos)
• Charting system: Cerner
• Any color scrubs permitted; supportive footwear encouraged
• Equipment includes ventilators (Servo U, Servo I, PB840, Hamilton T1), BiPAP/CPAP (V-60, V-30, Resmeds), high-flow Vapotherm, INOmax Plus, Oscillators, Cough Assist, and Volara
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, PALS, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC
• Active State of Wisconsin Respiratory Therapy license required
• 3-4 days of orientation on the floors following orientation with leadership
Facility:
This acute care facility operates a Critical Care Respiratory Therapy department supported by a dedicated leadership team including a system director, manager, supervisor, and lead respiratory therapist assigned to each shift. The facility maintains neonatologists and hospitalists in-house 24/7, with intensivists present in the ICUs around the clock and hospitalists covering medical and surgical units. The organization is a Level 2 trauma center offering inpatient and emergency department respiratory therapy services with a robust team-oriented environment.
